What is Bermuda?
For those who don’t know, Bermuda is a fast-growing type of grass for your lawn that’s categorized by discreetly thick leaves.
Compared to fescue grass, Bermuda has coarser and thicker blades of grass. In addition to that, it is known as an invasive grass since it has the capability of spreading and growing with less effort.
Because of this ability, a couple of homeowners consider this type of grass as a nuisance.
It will probably produce a messy-looking landscape if y our lawn consists currently of various types of grass and Bermuda starts to take hold. Your landscape will now have two types of grass instead of a single type of grass. Obviously, if you only seed your lawn with Bermuda, this will not be an issue.
Bermuda might go dormant if exposed to cold weather. Compared to Fescue, Bermuda is less tolerant of cold weather. This might discourage a couple of homeowners from choosing it.
The great news is that this type of grass provides a high tolerance for heat. It can endure hot temperatures without wilting. This is particularly true if you are living in an area with a hot climate. That’s why Bermuda grass is extremely common in those areas.
What is Fescue?
This is a type of turf grass that is categorized by extremely fine leaves.
Fescue has thinner blades of grass when compared to Bermuda. As it develops, this type of grass has extremely fine blades that will help to fill your landscaping. Seeing it with fescue is a certain way to treat it if there is a spot in your lawn with little to no grass.
Aside from that, it is also worth mentioning that this type of grass is more tolerant of cold temperatures compared to Bermuda. Fescue grows in a lot of warmer areas. However, it is also able to grow in areas with cool climates.
